Learn To Skydive

AFF is a full training course designed to take you from someone with feet firmly planted on the ground to skydiver in just 8 jumps. In the classroom you’ll learn all about how to stay stable in freefall, how to open and control your parachute, how to land, and everything you need to know to stay safe.

Next you’ll take to the skies with not one but two instructors. As you progress, it’ll become one instructor and then soon you’ll be jumping on your own. From jump one, you’ll steer and land your own parachute, with radio help if needed.

As your confidence increases, you’ll learn how to turn and stop, move across the sky and even do backflips in freefall. Finish the course with a big high five and a free t shirt (and beer!) then the fun begins and you’ve joined the sky family.

At Sky-High Skydiving, we want to make all your skydiving queries simple and clear to understand. Here are some commonly asked questions about Accelerated Freefall (AFF) Skydiving that we’ve put together for your insight:

AFF is a training program for individuals who want to become certified skydivers. Unlike tandem jumps, AFF students jump solo from the beginning, accompanied by two instructors who provide guidance in freefall.

No prior skydiving experience is required, but a strong desire to learn and a commitment to safety are essential.

The AFF program typically consists of several levels, each with specific skills to master. You’ll undergo ground training, including theory and practice, and gradually progress to more advanced jumps as you demonstrate proficiency.

Tandem skydiving involves jumping with an instructor while harnessed together, whereas AFF students jump solo while accompanied by instructors who help with stability and safety. AFF is the path to becoming a certified skydiver.

The minimum age for AFF skydiving is 16 years old with a parent or legal guardian’s consent.

Our drop zones provide all necessary equipment, including a jumpsuit, helmet, altimeter, and parachute rig.

The duration of the AFF training program can vary based on individual progress and the specific drop zone’s curriculum. It generally takes several days or weekends to complete the program.

AFF is considered safe when conducted by certified and experienced instructors. The program is designed to gradually introduce students to the various aspects of skydiving, ensuring that safety protocols are followed at all times.

Each level of the AFF program has specific skills and objectives that you need to demonstrate. Instructors will evaluate your performance during and after each jump. Passing these evaluations is required to progress through the program.

After completing the AFF program and meeting the necessary requirements, you can apply for your skydiving license. This allows you to jump solo and even with your own equipment, if you choose to invest in it.

In most cases, students are not allowed to jump together during the AFF program. This is to ensure safety and proper training. Once you’re licensed, you can jump with friends.

At Sky-High Skydiving we have a weight limit of 105kg due to safety considerations. If you have any concerns regarding skydiving and weight limits. Please contact our team for further guidance.
